My earliest memories are of drawing and coloring as a toddler. I recall getting my parents to be my first models! When I started school, I would draw pictures for my classmates to make friends. Today, I still love to connect with others through art.
My art education occurred much later in life. I shared with my wife, Patricia, that I was planning to buy a book to read how to improve my artwork. For those that know me, I tend to be frugal! She suggested that I take lessons. I followed her advice and I have learned so much from my art teachers, James Taylor, and Sylvia Cross. I am excited that my journey to express myself through art is just beginning. Most artists never share their artwork because they feel it is not their best work. I know that feeling well, but I want to share with you my journey. So, as you follow my work, I hope to express more deeply what I see.
As most artists, I draw upon my experiences for inspiration for my artwork. I enjoy the outdoors, sports, military service, and scouting which all provide the canvas for my ideas. Also, I enjoy capturing the narrative within the human face! My favorite medium is watercolor which allows me to capture the fluidity of movement. Art allows me to present to you the elements of a story but you get to fill in the blanks. Also, thank you to Leland and Cydne, for supporting their father's artwork in so many ways, from being my motivation to working with me on social media!
I am excited to share my art with you and I look forward to expanding my circle of friends!
